Oregon Sports Betting Gets Late Launch

The Oregon Lottery will miss its planned launch of online sports betting at the start of football season. Officials said that they are still testing the Oregon sports betting platform to make sure it is working properly.

Also, they are making sure that the lottery can provide support to customers who will use digital sportsbook. This is according to sports betting bookie reports.

Oregon Lottery will also conduct security tests to ensure the platform is safe for players. Once they completed the tests, they will launch the Oregon Lottery Scoreboard. However, its timeline is delayed by one to three weeks than initially expected according to bookie pay per head reports.

Aside from the NFL, it will accept bets on the NBA, MLB, NHL, pro soccer, MMA, auto racing, and other major sports. However, it will not allow bets on college games for now. Price Per Player reported that bettors can choose from single-game bets, live in-game betting, and parlay.

Oregon Sports Betting App

Only bettors from Oregon can use the Oregon sports betting app. However, you can’t be on tribal lands to use it. Players can use the mobile app or the website to register for an account. In addition, winnings go into their account. Also, players can use the app in monitoring the cash flow of their sports bets.

The Oregon Lottery initially planned to launch the mobile sports betting app in time for the start of the NFL season. They partnered with SBTech, a sports betting software provider. From 2015 to 2017, 58 percent of revenues of the Oregon Lottery went to public education programs. 26 percent went to job creation. Only 1 percent went to the treatment of problem gambling.

Critics didn’t like the state’s deal with SBTech. Unlike other states, Oregon opted to launch mobile sports betting first before retail shops open. Owners of restaurants and bars told sports betting bookie news that players might not wager at their properties because mobile betting arrived first.

In the opposite part of the world, there is news of China crackdown on offshore gambling. It stemmed from complaints from the Philippine government of the increasing number of illegal workers from mainland China.
