Nationals Win Game 2 to Even Series with Dodgers

Dodgers’ Corey Seager had the chance to be the hero in the second game of the NLDS. However, he struck out in the bottom of the ninth with the bases loaded. As a result, Nationals win Game 2 to even the series with the Dodgers.

The comeback was needed after Nationals’ Stephen Strasburg outpitched Dodgers’ Clayton Kershaw. In fact, Strasburg held Los Angeles to just one run on three hits. He struck out 10 Dodgers players with no walks, according to a sports blog.

Kershaw struggled early in the game, just like what he did in the regular season. In fact, he recorded a 5.79 ERA in the first inning during the regular season, according to bookie pay per head services provider. The Nationals attacked him right away to score a run in the first.

Then, the Nationals scored two more in the second inning. Also, he threw 44 pitches to get six outs. However, he managed to shake off his early game struggles and retired 13 out of the 14 batters he faced after the second inning. He threw 99 pitches in six innings where he struck out four and walked a single Dodger.

Nationals Win Game 2

The Dodgers can’t hit Strasburg’s pitches for four innings. After four innings, he threw 47 pitches that led to 12 swinging strikes. Also, he allowed only six balls into play. Infield defensive positioning helped stop two runners from scoring.

Sean Doolittle replaced Strasburg in the seventh inning. He has not been in the mound since September 28. He struck out Bellinger but allowed Max Muncy to hit a home run to make it a 3-2 game.

Scherzer came in for his first relief appearance in the playoffs. Also, it was the fourth of his MLB career. He threw 14 pitches and struck out three. Then the Nationals went to Hudson to finish the game.

It was a tense moment when the bases filled up after walking both Muncy and Smith with two outs. However, Seager failed to hit the slider and struck out, according to online gambling information.
