Lawmakers introduced the Ohio sports betting bill on May 6. Senator Niraj Antani stated they could get something done by June 30. However, it was all wishful thinking. Bob Cupp, Speaker of the House, stopped the proceedings and held hearings on sports betting.
Cupp doesn’t want to rush things. But, according to sportsbook pay per head reports, he wants to create a committee first to tackle sports betting. It came after the Senate held committee hearings on the topic for more than three months.
According to online bookie software experts, lawmakers made changes to the bill to win more supporters. The bill added more licenses in various counties. As a result, racinos and casinos can get into the action.
