Ohio Gaming Regulators are Reviewing Applications for Sports Betting


Several businesses have applied for sports betting licenses. They come from various industries, including a fireworks company and several professional sports teams. Also, Ohio gaming regulators will launch the market on January 1, 2023. 

Regulators received applications for online and mobile sports betting from 22 organizations. It included all pro sports organizations based in Ohio. Also, four casinos, the Pro Football Hall of Fame, and the Muirfield Village Golf Club applied for a Type A sports betting license.

Ohio Gaming Regulators Approve Licenses

Type B licenses allow organizations to in-person sports betting facilities. Some applicants include pro sports teams, casinos, and the Phantom Fireworks. The Ohio Casino Control Commission said their compliance officers carefully review the applications.
