New Diamond Jacks Casino Owners to Reopen the Casino

After purchasing the now-defunct Diamond Jacks Casino in Bossier City, a corporation from Mississippi has announced intentions to invest $200 million in its repair and reopening.

On Thursday, the casino sale to Foundation Gaming was approved by the Louisiana Gaming Commission. The casino will be the first on dry ground in Northwest Louisiana (all the others are on barges) and the foundation hopes to reopen in time for the holidays in December 2024. A brand-new moniker for the building will be selected by the corporation.

The New Owners of Diamond Jacks Casino

When it first opened in 1994 as the Isle of Capri Casino, it was the first casino in Northwest Louisiana.

The idea has the backing of local leaders who are anticipating economic benefits in the form of more employment and tax revenue. Its current properties are the Fitz Casino in Tunica County and the WaterView Casino in Vicksburg, both of which are located in Mississippi.

According to gambling industry news reports, the hotel's 405 rooms will be renovated and a new 47,000-square-foot casino, sports betting bar, and live entertainment arena will be built next year.

The current riverboat is going to be sold and either towed away on the Red River or dismantled and sent elsewhere.
