The Michigan regulatory body has approved Linking BetMGM's online poker players with those in New Jersey who utilize the iGaming platform.
There has been an integration between the BetMGM online poker rooms in New Jersey and the Michigan online poker sites. BetMGM may now join the ranks of Michigan's other two iGaming platforms, which provide cross-state player sharing.
On Wednesday, the MGCB stated that it had authorized BetMGM to combine its Michigan and New Jersey online poker sites. Online poker games in both states may now be played lawfully on a broader scale, providing participants with a more exciting and competitive experience.
BetMGM Gets Approval for Online Poker Network
When BetMGM first approached the MGCB in late May, they requested authorization to link their online poker sites in Michigan and New Jersey. This week, the state gambling regulatory agency authorized the company's Multi-State Poker Submission Form, concluding the permission.
According to sportsbook pay per head recommendations and news sites, a third online firm has received clearance for sharing player liquidity from Michigan. It will join BetMGM and MGM Grand Detroit in operating online casino gaming in Michigan, including interactive slots and table games. Entain, headquartered in London, and MGM Resorts International, which owns MGM Grand Detroit, have a 50/50 stake in BetMGM.
The Grand Traverse Band of Ottawa and Chippewa Indians and PokerStars are two Michigan-based organizations that collaborate to host multi-state poker events. The World Series of Poker (WSOP) platform is also active in the state. PokerStars' multistate poker format started on January 1, 2023, while the WSOP opened on May 2024.
